ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups whose aim is to foster an inclusive workplace aligned with the Laboratory’s mission, vision, and values. The groups are made up of staff who share common interests, culture, backgrounds, characteristics or pursuits, and their allies. The groups provide opportunities for personal and career development and create a safe space where employees can bring their whole selves to the workplace. Membership is open to all staff members, and groups serve the diverse needs of female, veteran, African American, Latinx, Asian American, early-career professionals, and LGBTQ+ staff. To date, there are 8 ERGs, membership exceeds 1,000 employees, and HR provides oversight.
